It was certainly life changing and transformative. I literally landed on my backside then through life experience and meeting some amazing teachers I realised that instead of objectification or looking externally all the wisdom is all in the inside. Learning deeper aspects of the breath and mediation and sharing time around those mountains was incredible!This song is tongue and cheek but has a deeper meaning. Wakarusa Festival, USA experience by Dan Pearson GG Drummer!Tales from the tour bus. Part 1: BucketheadI once performed with Ganga Giri at Wakarusa festival in Arkansas and our slot was between Buckethead and Primus. I was using a custom electronic kit and we had Mike Wofchuck on percussion and Jornick Joelick on vocals. I have no idea why were put on that particular stage at all as it was totally guitar driven and we were a bass heavy electronic/didgeridoo band and very much out of place. I'm guessing it was because we were an international act.Anyway, I think we made an impression on Buckethead as he was standing backstage after we came off and he just stood there staring straight at us for about 10 minutes as we packed up. He didn't move or say anything at all, he just stared. I was hoping he might come over and talk to us as I'm a fan of his work, but he didn't. It was kinda weird but I got the impression he was making a point that he appreciated us for being so unique compared to the other acts playing that day.The other funny thing I remember about that show was that we turned up in a tiny Prius (our hire car) and we drove right up to the back of stage and parked in front of all of the trucks, semi-trailers and massive tour buses. There were dozens of crew, technicians and roadies eveywhere. We unloaded our gear, did the gig and totally smashed it, then quickly packed up, loaded everything back into the Prius and drove out. Eveyone was looking at us with slack jawed expressions and I could tell they were thinking "WHO THE HELL ARE THESE GUYS?!?" I dont think they had ever seen a band with such a big sound that had such a small logistical footprint before.Oh well, that's my Buckethead story.
