About Ganga Giri –
No matter where he plays, Ganga Giri literally blows audiences away. For 30 years the Yidaki (didjeridoo) virtuoso has taken his one-of-a-kind sound worldwide, electrifying millions. The word ‘unique’ is overused in music circles, but rightly applies to Ganga’s various guises at festivals, corporate events, schools and more.
Bio
Ganga Giri’s musical journey started on kit drums when he was eight years old. Inspired by a vivid dream, he began playing the didjeridoo
soon after; kindling a sound that would one day meld disparate genres:Indigenous Australian, World, Funk, Techno, with exotic instruments:East Indian Tabla, African percussion, samplers and more.
Ganga’s distinctive approach to the didgeridoo is respected by Aboriginal contemporaries who understand the instrument’s sacredness and appreciate his ability to express its link to Country and spirit. With 15 albums under his belt, and collaborations with the likes of Peter Gabriel and Wim Hof, he is a musical ambassador, offering global audiences a reflection of contemporary multicultural Australia.

“Ganga Giri, a psychedelic tribe of musicians that create an amazing multi-layered blend of indigenous/electro/dance/rock, and upon my first vision of Giri dancing around the stage, waving his arms around and playing didgeridoo at the same time he’d won me over. I also loved the resonating vocals of Jornick, the rasta vocalist, but what I love most about Ganga Giri is the way that all the elements of their musical creation come together to create a sonical soundscape that is unlike anything else I’ve ever heard, truly original musicians.”
